Jeremy Lin Doubtful for Brooklyn Nets vs Detroit Pistons Game on Tuesday Due to Ankle Injury

Jeremy Lin is listed doubtful for Tuesday's game between the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons at the Barclays Center. Lin is still feeling the effects of a sprained ankle he suffered on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks.

The injury happened in the five-minute mark in the first quarter when Jeremy Lin landed on J.J. Barea's foot after taking a jump shot. He was able to play for two more possessions before he was taken out of the game.

The 28-year-old point guard only scored four points in the 111-104 loss to the Mavericks because he was not allowed to return to the game. However, it was a positive sign for the Nets that Lin was able to ride a stationary bike in the second quarter.

In an interview with Newsday, Jeremy Lin revealed that his injury is nothing serious, but he is currently approaching the injury day-to-day. He added that his hamstring was not injured and he is looking forward to returning to the court as soon as possible.

"Just day-to-day, nothing serious. I'm encouraged. Even Sunday, I was encouraged, too. It was just an ankle tweak thing and not like a hamstring or anything like that. Obviously, a lot of it is to see how it responds, which I guess is more of the tricky part," Lin said.

It should be noted that Jeremy Lin missed a total of 44 games this season due to right hamstring injury. The Nets have started playing well when he returned after the All-Star break and head coach Kenny Atkinson was disappointed about the ankle injury.

However, Atkinson is happy about the team's performance against the Mavericks despite losing Jeremy Lin. Spencer Dinwiddie got the minutes and he played well with Brook Lopez. Although he admires Dinwiddie's effort, he is hoping the Lin will return very soon.

The Nets are officially eliminated from the playoffs and they will finish the season with the worst record in the NBA. They will host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday at the Barclays Center. The Pistons are currently tied with the Miami Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
