AMD Radeon RX Vega News and Specs: What We Know So Far
The exclusive teaser video of AMD Radeon RX Vega was recently viewed exclusively by Chinese media. While they kept mum about other information of the upcoming graphics card, there is no doubt that indeed, AMD Radeon RX Vega will be one of the most sought after GPU once it is released in the market, why?
The Total Design Packaging
Based on the screenshots from the exclusive teaser video about AMD Radeon RX Vega, the packaging of this graphics card is not really black and white, or black or red, but is plated using silver, brushed metallic design, as clearly revealed on the photos released by VideoCardz.com.
This high-end looking packaging undoubtedly makes the best introduction for a new generation of graphic cards powered by the second generation of High Bandwidth Memory, or HBM2.
When it comes to aesthetics and its lighting effects, a photo with the text "It's Got a Soul" says it all. From the "R" logo which can be seen at the bottom right corner, to the connectors that says GPU Tach - the same feature LED load indicator of Fury X, to the color indicator between the Radeon RX Vega logo and GPU Tach.
AMD Radeon RX Vega Specs
While it has yet to be determined if Radeon RX Vega is part of the AMD Radeon 500 Series, VideoCardz.net already classified it as such, perhaps based on the timeframe the said graphic cards are scheduled for release. At any rate, Radeon RX Vega is said to be the first graphics card to carry HBM2, an 8GB HBM2 as earlier reports suggests.
Based on Vega 10 GPU architecture, Radeon RX Vega is said to be based on 14nm FinFET with Stream Processors of 4096, 64 Compute Units, Memory Clock of 400 MHz and Effective Memory Clock at 1600 Mbps. However, the Base and Boost Clocks has yet to be determined. But more importantly, along with the 8GB HBM2, the graphic card's Memory Bus Width reaches about 2048-bit and a Memory Bandwidth of 409.6 GB/s.
