WWE Rumors: Braun Strowman to Beat Roman Reigns in the Main Event of Payback

The WWE has announced that Braun Strowman will face Roman Reigns at Payback on April 30 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The latest WWE rumors suggested that Strowman is going to defeat Reigns to build him up as a contender for Brock Lesnar.

As recapped by WWE.com, Raw general manager Kurt Angle announced on Monday that Strowman will have his hands full at Payback when he faces Reigns. The "Monster Among Men" was looking for competition after putting "The Big Dog" on the shelf last week.

Strowman assaulted Reigns in last week's episode of Raw and he left him with a separated shoulder and cracked ribs. He even tipped over an ambulance to show his unbelievable strength to the WWE Universe. He started this week's Raw by looking for more competition.

The former member of The Wyatt Family first attacked Goldust and R-Truth before putting Kalisto on a garbage can. The Big Show showed up and challenged Strowman to a match. Angle booked them in the main event of this week's Raw.

In the main event, Strowman and Big Show put on a great match that ended in a no contest after the ring exploded. Strowman suplexed Big Show from the top rope that made the ring collapse with referee John Cone even getting thrown out of the ring.

According to Cageside Seats, the WWE is really making Strowman look strong and they have a reason for it. They want the "Monster Among Men" to face Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship before SummerSlam.

The report also noted that a stipulation might be added in the Strowman vs. Reigns match at Payback. It is to protect Reigns since he won't be losing clean or get counted down in the mat for a count of three. The WWE is trying to protect both superstars since they are vital to their plans with Lesnar being absent for the next several weeks.

However, it should be noted that these are just purely speculative at the moment and plans can change. Some of the possible stipulations for the Strowman vs. Reigns includes an Ambulance Match or a Stretcher Match.
