Boxing News: Tyson Fury Predicts Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko Will Be Cancelled
Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury took potshots at the Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko fight. The British boxer made a bold prediction about the bout scheduled next Saturday being cancelled.
In a Twitter post, he wrote that the fight is unlikley to push through, questioning the heart of both fighters. "Starting to think the klitschko vs AJ fight isn't happening in this month, Bet som1 gets injured , sell out my a**e.!!!!"
Fury has been suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control for violating the doping rules. The council has yet to meet to decide what's next for the 28-year-old. He also tried to get a license to fight from Ireland but his application was denied.
Nevertheless, Joshua and Fury have been running a long-running feud on Twitter, which was triggered with the latter called the 27-year-old as a "poor man's Frank Bruno." That got the British boxer riled up as he replied, "Typical @Tyson_Fury always tlking BS around fight time. Same offer as lst time. X2 ringside tickets dn't bring a plus 1 it's for ur fat ass."
Joshua in a interview said he's still setting his eyes for a possible fight with Fury. If he's going to play matchmaker, in fact, that bout would have been set this summer.
"I was planning for a massive showdown with Tyson Fury but he had other plans and I just had to carry on. When he returns, I'm sure I'll still be here," he said. "Do I want him to come back? Yes, definitely."
Meanwhile, Fury's cousin, Hughie Fury, predicted that Joshua will go down against Klitschko. Although it must be said that he's looking to step up into the ring with the Ukrainian for what could be a big payday. He said that he wants Joshua to win, however, Klitschko is just too wily compared to the British boxer's inexperience.
