Nothing is known about the game except for some rumors that the game will be set in World War 2, which indicates that Activision has learned from its mistakes and is taking the "Call of Duty" franchise back to its roots. According to Sledgehammer Games, this year's "Call of Duty" is their best game yet and fans are "gonna go nuts."
Additionally, as more games adopt the open world concept for campaigns, hopefully, this will be an opportunity for "Call of Duty" to shed its linear-based campaign mold and offer something truly unique. Considering the lackluster sales the franchise has experienced year-over-year, it needs a significant change if it wants to survive in a growing competitive market, GameRant reports.
