Omar Chavez, brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., draw first blood when he knocked out Ramon, the brother of Saul Canelo Alvarez Jr., in their fight Saturday night in Chihuahua, Mexico. Will history repeat itself this Saturday night in Las Vegas?

The 27-year-old son of a boxing legend said that his win was really a statement victory to prove that their family dynasty is much better than the Alvarez brothers. He also hoped that his victory would encourage his brother, Chavez Jr., to also knock out Canelo Alvarez this coming Saturday.

"I knew I would knock him out, and now my brother Julio will continue and he will [beat Canelo]. All my respect for Ramon," he said, talking about Canelo's brother. "I took the opportunity because I knew I could win. I prepared for a tough fight, but I understood that the knockout was possible. [Julio] knows that he can win and he is very well prepared."

There are several questions leading up to the Chavez Jr. and Canelo Alvarez fight this Saturday, including if the former can make weight. Another question is whether the latter will have the same power when facing a much bigger opponent.

For his part, the 31-year-old Chavez Jr. promised to give fans a good fight when he faces off against his younger opponent. He's also confident that he can make the catchweight of 165 Ibs, although he admitted that it's going to be "hard, difficult."

"I can knock him out, beat him like I said I would and I have prepared with that mentality," Chavez Jr. vowed. "I'm ready. I'm waiting for the last few days to pass, so the people can enjoy a good fight. I feel good."

The decision by Chavez Jr. and Alvarez to fight at a catchweight has received a lot of flak, including from undefeated middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin. Triple G said this will only benefit Alvarez because his opponent would be draining himself as opposed to fighting at 168 Ibs.
