WWE Rumors: Batista Wants to Face Triple H in His Retirement Match
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" star Dave Bautista, famously known as Batista, is enjoying his success outside of wrestling. However, the former WWE superstar is still interested in having a retirement program and he wants it to be against Triple H.
In a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho podcast, Batista revealed his desire to return to the WWE despite having differences with the company. He added that he is very interested in having a retirement match against Triple H, who is now a WWE executive and a part-time superstar.
"I've asked for what I want. I'll tell you and I've talked to Hunter about it and I've talked to Vince about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That's the only thing I'm interested in doing. They're just not interested in it, you know?" Batista said.
The problem is the WWE and Batista are not in great terms after the latter's run in the company in 2014. The 48-year-old superstar was very vocal in his unhappiness with his 2014 run and he was very critical of the creative team. Several WWE executives also believed that Batista won't be successful in Hollywood, which turned out to be very wrong.
Batista is quite possibly the second-most successful wrestler-turned-actor behind Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. John Cena is creeping up behind them but Batista's latest role as Drax the Destroyer is one of the breakout characters of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" film series.
At the age of 48 years old, Batista has only a handful of matches left in his career. He is having a very successful career in Hollywood and he won't have a lot of time if he wants to wrestle. He is one of the best superstars of the Ruthless Aggression Era and he is a future WWE Hall of Famer.
According to WWE.com, Batista is a six-time WWE World champion and a four-time WWE tag team champion. He also won two Royal Rumble Matches in 2005 and 2014.
