'Assassin's Creed' 7 Latest Update: More 'Assassin's Creed Origins' Leaks; No Towers, Multiplayer or Naval Combat
Over the past few months, fans have been getting bits and pieces of information about the forthcoming return of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, a new adventure in the series called "Origins". Furthermore, new details have been revealed.
"Assassin's Creed 7" Latest Update: "Assassin's Creed Origins" Leaks
Some of the "Assassin's Creed" highlights will shade around the new main character in the game as he will have his own trilogy, just like "Ezio". Hence, the plot of "Assassin's Creed Origins" will revolve around him freeing Israelites from Egyptian slavery.
According to WCCF Tech, there's also a new modern day protagonist. The development team took some cues from "The Witcher 3", like boat sailing and the combat system.
There won't be any classic Ubisoft style towers and no multiplayer, either. Meanwhile, the game should be out on PC/PS4/XB1, with no Switch port planned.
As for the gameplay, there are definitely some big tweaks that have been revealed that look to shake up the gameplay. Game Sinners reported that there is a new scouting mechanic involving an eagle, whose placeholder name, for the time being, is "Akhom".
Long-time fans of the series will be happy to know that towers have been completely removed in the next installment. Furthermore, the eagle in the game is also being used for locating side activities and points of interest.
It was noted that the developers of the game have focused entirely on delivering an engrossing story for the game, with multiplayer being left out entirely in order to focus on the single player. However, there will be microtransactions like in Black Flag and Rogue.
It's possible that multiplayer may return to the series at some point in the future, with the leak claiming that the feature is "still on the cards." The "Assassin's Creed Origins" is expected to launch by the end of this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. We'll likely be getting the full details on the game during E3 2017, which kicks off next month.
