Initial Leaked Image Showing Dual Camera Is Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Samsung Galaxy S8 may be the best smartphone there is in the market today. But this did not stop enthusiasts from being thrilled after learning that the upcoming phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, will feature a more powerful dual camera setup.
As reported by The Korea Herald, Samsung Electronics is expected to adopt the dual camera feature for its 2017 flagship phablet, Galaxy Note 8. It is said that Samsung initially planned to integrate this dual camera settings on the Galaxy S8 but later dropped the idea due to price concerns.
"Although Samsung did not officially announce the adoption of dual cameras (for the Galaxy S8), it is inevitable to feature the cameras, which stole the spotlight during this year's Mobile World Congress," Daishin Securities analyst Park Kang-ho said. In addition, Galaxy Note 8 will include 3X optical zoom, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 13-megapixel telephoto lens.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo leaked the same information about Galaxy Note 8 last month, plus more. As reported by 9to5Google, Kuo suggested that Samsung will adopt the dual-camera setup on Galaxy Note 8. The features of this dual camera feature will include 3x optical zoom, 12MP wide-angle CIS supporting dual photodiode (2PD), 13MP telephoto CIS, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS.
For comparison, Kuo believe that the Note 8 dual camera will be much better than that of iPhone 7 Plus, adding that the dual camera feature will likely match that of OLED iPhone. The OLED iPhone referred to is Apple's upcoming anniversary gift to people, the iPhone 8.
The dual camera leak was first believed to be integrated on Samsung Galaxy S8+. However, after the unveiling of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ for which the dual camera is never present, it was then believed that the leaked image was the Galaxy Note 8. Check out this tweet from Eldar Murtazin:
