No Respect For Amir Khan From Kell Brook Who Called Fighter the Kim Kardashian of Boxing
Kell Brook will defend his title against Errol Spence in just two weeks, and training like a madman to get down to 147 pounds. But the IBF welterweight champ couldn't help but make snide remarks at Amir Khan who has been calling him out for his next fight.
He said that Khan has so much drama surrounding him, and always be the subject of the tabloids "for the wrong reasons." "It's comical. He is Amir Khadashian," the 31-year-old British boxer said.
"It's all good, it's funny. I have heard he is a bit skint and has problems with his dad. I am hearing his wife wants a big fancyhouse."
Khan has been embroiled in a scandal when his x-rated video found itself in porn sites, the January report from Daily Mirror said. The clip allegedly showed the boxer pleasuring himself while chatting with a female online. The boxer reportedly made the video while still fresh from his marriage to model Faryal Makhdoom.
The camps of both Brook and Khan have been in negotiations before to pit the two British boxers. There were various rumors why the talks bogged down. If Brook's promoter is to be believed, Khan was asking a 70-30 split in favor of the 30-year-old Pakistani. "We feel this fight is easy to make with a straight 50:50 split, but Khan's team felt Kell didn't deserve anywhere near 50:50," Eddie Hearns said.
However, in last month's interview with The Sun, Khan said that the timing is right for him to fight Brook regardless of what happens with the latter's boxing match with Spence on May 27. He said that he lost to Canelo Alvarez while Brook lost to Gennady Golovkin.
"So I think it makes sense for us to fight now," Khan, who moved up to 155 pounds, said. "He's got Errol Spence next and if he wins that then it's a title fight but I think it's a big fight without a title - I think it's one that fight fans want to see."
