AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition: Bringing the Best in Game Design, AI and VR
AMD finally introduced its first graphics card based on the high-end Radeon Vega architecture, the RadeonTM Vega Frontier Edition. This graphics card is said to be a premier solution on artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) workloads, game design and advanced technology in visualization.
As posted on AMD press release, this 64 compute units/4096 stream processors Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card can deliver an estimated 25 TFLOPS of FP16 / 13 TFLOPS of FP32. What's more is that Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card will become available in the market before June ends though no specific launch date was revealed.

So how powerful is RadeonTM Vega Frontier Edition? Even Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) Chief Raja Koduri is amazed and totally excited with their upcoming graphics card. "We're excited about releasing this graphics card into the wild and seeing what you'll accomplish with it, especially with the horsepower that's inside, because for machine learning and professional visualization workloads, Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is very simply the fastest graphics card on the planet," Koduri posted on Radeon.
According to Koduri, there are four major categories in which Radeon Vega Frontier Edition surpasses leading competitors. He enumerated the following as Machine Learning, Advanced Visualization, Revolutionizing Game Design and 360 VR Workflows.
With Machine Learning, developers can tap into AMD Vega's machine learning algorithm. In terms of real-time visualization, rendering and VR design and rendering, the Frontier Edition is expected to deliver up to an average of 42 percent more performance compared to NVIDIA Titan Xp.
The upcoming Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card also supports AMD's LiquidVRTM which is a breakthrough technology when it comes to video editing, animation, post-production and next-generation VR experiences. This latest graphics card revolutionizes game design workflows by simplifying and accelerating game creation by using a single GPU for every stage of a game development.
