The expected new IP of Xbox, "Scalebound", was canceled a few months ago. However, new reports are claiming that Microsoft has renewed the rights of IP, which has experienced some moves this past month.

2017 "Scalebound" Update: Microsoft Renews "Scalebound" Trademark

According to WCCF Tech, the "Scalebound" was initially developed by PlatinumGames and was canceled earlier this year. The exact reason for the game's cancellation is unknown, but Microsoft's Phil Spencer stated that the result is better for Xbox gamers in general.

Microsoft didn't comment on whether development on the action RPG would be continued. However, a recent trademark renewal suggests that Microsoft has something up its sleeve.

Meanwhile, SomosXbox reported that Platinum Games would not be involved in the development of the "Scalebound" and Microsoft would be practically creating it from scratch. It would be something like a "reboot" of what fans already know.

Precisely for this reason, the user advises not to wait for "Scalebound" in the short term. Furthermore, the "Scalebound" would be one of the most awaited confirmations by Xbox users.

At this moment, Microsoft has not spoken about it and it is unknown if the "Scalebound" would be present at E3. However, if so, would be a pleasant surprise for those who are looking forward to the Xbox conference.

What Is "Scalebound" All About?

The "Scalebound" is a game that the player will experience the journey of a young loner named Drew, who is pulled into the strange, beautiful, and dangerous world of Draconis. Drew is also bonded to a fearsome and noble dragon, Thuban, the last of his kind.

These two lone-wolf heroes, thrown together by fate, must learn to fight as one to defeat the powerful enemies that threaten Draconis, Earth. The players will also explore the beautiful and dangerous world of Draconis.

The "Scalebound" gameplay gives the player the power to fluidly chain attacks with their dragon too, creating devastating combos to unleash upon their foes. The players can even customize their winged pal and then evolve their dragon unique abilities and attacks, as well as its appearance.
