AMD Vega Radeon GPUs: RX Vega Gaming, Vega Pro 64 and Vega Pro 56
While people are busy hurling themselves at AMD Radeon RX Vega Frontier Edition, a couple of upcoming AMD graphic cards also based on Vega architecture recently surfaced. Rumors have surfaced that AMD will come up with a gaming version of Radeon RX Vega.
Based on recent reports, AMD might hold the launch possibly by the end of July or early August for the Radeon RX Vega Gaming graphics card. Soon after, Radeon Vega Pro 64 and Radeon Vega Pro 56 graphic cards will follow, though exact date remains unknown.
In late May, iSportsTimes reported that there is a big possibility that AMD would release its next generation Radeon RX Vega sometime in late July, possibly early August after the release of Radeon RX Vega Frontier Edition. This version of Radeon RX Vega is specifically designed for the purpose of gaming, though it can also be used for rendering, among others.
Then just recently, WCCFTech reported that AMD will come up with two Radeon Pro Vega graphics card based on Vega architecture. The first graphics card, the Vega 64, will come in two versions - a full-fat version and a skimmed version, which will be integrated in all upcoming iMac Pros. This Radeon Pro Vega 64 will feature the "Vega 10 XT" GPU configuration with all 64 compute units and 16GB of HBM2.
Meanwhile, the Radeon Pro Vega 56 is a cut-back version of "Vega 10 Pro" GPU. This GPU comes only with 56 compute units, thus the name suggests. Though it is a cut-back version, Radeon Pro Vega 56 has 400GB/S of memory bandwidth and will come with 8GB HBM2. Both graphic cards are initially scheduled for December 2017 release.
