With the Golden State Warriors reclaiming their NBA Championship title, rumors about the Cleveland Cavaliers front office going to trade Kevin Love is picking up. Now, one of the most resounding trade rumors which recently surfaced says Cavs should be looking at fellow East team New York Knicks and swap for Carmelo Anthony. A win-win scenario for both teams, is it?

LeBron has the Final Say

Andrew Lynch of FOX Sports suggested that even if Melo is a close friend of The King, "LeBron's also one of the smartest players in the NBA, and he's still chasing rings. He knows that Love gives the Cavs a better chance to win than Melo. There's no way he's signing off on this one-for-one deal."

Surely, Phil Jackson will be on his feet just to get rid of Melo and in welcoming the 6'10" power forward. But LeBron surely has inputs about who's in and who's out. Remember Tristan Thompson's contract? How about JR Smith's?

RealGM Trade Checker suggested that trading Melo for Love will satisfy the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement should Melo waive his no-trade clause, of course. But losing Love would mean -5.2 rebounds a game, something that the Golden State Warriors was able to capitalize during the NBA Finals.

Kevin Love's Scoring Dilemma

It is true - Kevin Love's numbers with the Cleveland Cavaliers is not the same as when he led the Minnesota Timberwolves. For one, he is not the first scoring option; Love is not even the second scoring option. Remember LeBron James and Kyrie Irving? Then there's Kyle Korver, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert and JR Smith, all of whom are licensed to shoot just like him.

There are only two ways for Kevin Love to score. First, should Kyrie and LeBron drives to the hoop and decides to pass in the last second and found Kevin open. Two, if he gets the offensive rebound and force his way in.

The Cavaliers Reality

Sad to say, even if Kevin is replaced with another bonafide NBA superstar, he will still play the same role - the third option. So trading Kevin Love would not solve the Golden State Warriors puzzle. But there are other ways, a Tristan Thompson-DeMarcus Cousins trade, and getting defensive-minded free agents, as posted by iSportsTimes.
