NBA Trades: Chicago Bulls to Send Jimmy Butler to Boston Celtics for Mega Package Deal
NBA trades will soon headline the world of sports. One that can shock the league is a recommended move for the Chicago Bulls who have been rumored to be considering dealing away Jimmy Butler. Chicago could give up Butler to the Boston Celtics in exchange for a massive package deal.
A report by Metro US suggested this potential offer for Boston. The Celtics are going to ship forward Jae Crowder, guard Avery Bradley, and two 2018 first-rounders (one coming from the Brooklyn Nets) to Chicago. In return, the Bulls are saying goodbye to Butler and sending him to Beantown.
It is not the first time Chicago's Butler was linked to Boston. Earlier this year, there were reports that the Celtics asked the Bulls about the 27-year-old All-Star guard. During that time, the Bulls were believed to be seeking for draft picks and young veteran players.
The suggestion of Metro US' report is an excellent one for the parties involved. Chicago is getting valuable assets that would help it in one of its major goals. There are talks that the Bulls are willing to give up their star players, including Butler, because of their desire to undergo the rebuilding phase.
Meanwhile, Boston is adding that one last star player it is searching for since last year's offseason. Butler is completing the cast the Celtics are hoping will end the three-season dominance of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.
The possible trade can change the landscape of the East and the entire NBA. However, it is uncertain if Boston and Chicago will pull the trigger. Looking at it, the Celtics are losing a lot. Yes, they are adding a certified All-Star on the roster but is it worth it in the long run?
