‘The Last of Us Part II’ Development to Start After ‘Uncharted: The Lost Legacy’
While most fans of Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" are busy trying to put up theories, looking for signs of what could possibly happen on "The Last of Us Part 2 Part II", new information has surfaced. "The Last of Us Part II" development is currently on hold. But do not worry, this won't take long.
During an interview with Shaun Escayg, the creative director and writer of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy", he revealed that the entire studio is working on the standalone expansion of this Uncharted version. Therefore, no soul was left to work on "The Last of Us Part 2 Part II".
"Right now, the studio's focus is Lost Legacy," Escayg told Euro Gamer. "We have a truly ambitious schedule. The Last of Us [project] is working but at a lot slower pace right now. The entire team is on Lost Legacy - that's a couple hundred of us strong."
"The Last of Us Part 2" Development Speculations
Now for "The Last of Us" fans, there's no need to worry just yet as we may in fact see another update from game developer Naughty Dog before the year ends. Reading between the lines of Escayg, he said that the studio is focus solely on "Lost Legacy". Remember, this standalone game is scheduled for release this August 22nd.
But that's not all - the creative director also mentioned that they are on a "truly ambitious schedule". This could be interpreted as saying they may also have an "ambitious schedule" for "The Last of Us Part II" once they are finished with of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy".
The first and only solid proof of "The Last of Us Part 2 Part II" was introduced at PlayStation Experience 2016. It wouldn't hurt if Naughty Dogs bring the second teaser at PlayStation Experience 2017. We'll bring you more updates on "The Last of Us Part 2 Part II" as details become available.
