AMD Radeon RX Vega Needs Lots of Power, Says MSI Marketing Director
Delivering high performance is synonymous with high power usage. This was proven true anew when partner retailers received their AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic card boards. So what did they found out about AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic cards? They need to make room for more power.
As posted by MSI marketing director on the Dutch forum Tweakers, AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic cards are power hungry, literally speaking. "I've seen the specs of Vega RX. It needs a damn lot of power. We're working on it, which is a start so launch is coming closer," as translated by VideoCardz.
According to the same report, the power consumption of AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic cards is expected not to be lower than the recently released AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition. The said graphics card can consume board power of 300W for air-cooled and 375W if it is using the liquid cooling system.
But what's good is that these AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic cards will be arriving in five weeks' time. Thus, there's a good chance we'll get our hands on AMD Radeon RX Vega graphic cards by late July or early August. AIB resellers are also expected to release their custom designs at launch.
