2017 Nintendo Games Update: Super NES Classic Edition Release Coming Soon; SNES 21 Games Officially Announced Including ‘Super Mario Kart’

NES, one of the greatest video game systems, is making a comeback through the Super NES Classic Edition. Nintendo officially announced that the SNES release date is set for release on September 29, 2017, along with 21 games.

Nintendo revealed that the Super NES Classic Edition will be available starting on September 29, 2017, for only $79.99. Players can easily plug the upcoming console into any high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable, Game Frost reports.

Super NES Classic Edition Features

According to Nintendo, the Super NES Classic Edition will bring back the golden age of 16-bit gaming. In this new console, Yoshi, Samus, and the Star Fox crew are waiting for players to come and play the SNES.

In terms of design, the Super NES Classic Edition features the original look and feel of the '90s home console. However, the SNES console is much smaller than the original one. It also includes two wired retro Super NES Classic Controllers for multiplayer gaming. It is also compatible with the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro accessories. Nintendo players just need to plug it in and play the games, Nintendo reports.

SNES 21 Games Revealed

The arrival of the Super NES Classic Edition will allow players to get their hands on some of the best two-player games of the era. It includes the "Super Mario Kart," "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars," "Super Mario World" and "Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting." SNES players will also be given access to the intergalactic adventure "Star Fox 2," which is the sequel of the original "Star Fox" that was created during the Super NES era but was never released.

The Super NES Classic Edition will be pre-loaded with 21 incredible games. Apart from the games already mentioned, the console will include "Contra III: The Alien Wars," "Donkey Kong Country," "EarthBound," "Final Fantasy III," "F-ZERO," Kirby Super Star," and "Kirby's Dream Course." The SNES will also include "The Legend of Zelda" A Link to the Past," "Mega Man X," "Secret of Mana," "Super Castlevania IV," "Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts," "Super Metroid," "Super Punch-Out!!" and "Yoshi's Island," Wccftech reports.
