PlayStation 5 Latest Update: What Sony's Next-Gen Console Needs to Beat the Xbox One X
The PlayStation 4 is doing huge income right now, having sold over 60 million units worldwide, a number that's likely to continue with games like "Spider-Man" and "God of War" on the horizon. Furthermore, Sony is also trying to push the PlayStation 4 Pro as well, since more developers are starting to take advantage of what its hardware can do on the 4K front.
What Sony's Next-Gen Console Needs to Beat the Xbox One X
The problems that fans have with the PlayStation 4 Pro are that it claimed it's a 4K console when it comes to games. However, there's only half truth about it.
Furthermore, according to Comic Book, some games aren't really supported nor have 4K Ultra Blu-Ray movies, which a lot of people feel doesn't make a lot of sense. So, for its next hardware, Sony can't hold anything back.
For that matter, if games can push to 6K, like the "Titanfall 2" reportedly will on the Xbox One X, it needs to have that support as well, instead of patching it in loosely with a few glitches here and there. It needs to be absolutely focused on making everything have the best visual interface possible, and not just "bits and pieces."
PlayStation 5 Needs Backward Compatibility
Even some execs feeling that the backward compatibility isn't a "vital" feature in game consoles, fans tremendously disagree. The PlayStation 2 thrived because it supported original PlayStation games along with PS2 software, and the Xbox backward compatibility program is thriving with Xbox 360 and forthcoming original Xbox games, according to Isports Times.
Therefore, Sony needs to have the hardware ready to support all PlayStation 4 games right out of the box in the PlayStation 5, so players have something to enjoy. Furthermore, this includes maximizing their performance with the PS4 Pro specs inside the box, instead of forcing them to upgrade to hardware that's not entirely beneficial to the market.
