Google Pixel 2 Release Date, Latest News, & Update: Google Pixel 2 Could Mimic Samsung's AOD; Pixel 2 New Report Surfaces
There is a lot of reports floating around the Internet about Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL launch, which is just a few months away. Furthermore, reports claimed that the smaller version will be made by HTC and the larger one by LG.
Google Pixel 2 Could Mimic Samsung's AOD
According to Cyclose, the smaller Pixel 2 is said to resemble the original handset and will have a 4.97-inch screen with a more basic 1080p resolution. The larger model Pixel 2 will be developed and made by the team at LG, with a huge 5.99-inch screen gracing the nearly bezel-less front.
The larger Pixel 2 model is categorized as a premium device with a higher-end design. Hence, it comes with a much slimmer bezel that reminds us that most smartphones of the future probably won't have a bezel at all.
The Google Pixel 2 will also sport a more energy-efficient processor, which would mean the introduction of an 'always-on mode' does make sense for the new Pixel phones. Feature-wise, the new Pixel 2s will be joining Samsung's premium devices and their Always-On Display, as reported by 1RedDrop.
XDA Developers also claimed Google will add a second speaker to the larger Pixel 2, making for a stereo audio setup. While the original Pixels lacked in water resistance, the upcoming Pixel 2 smartphone is said to have this feature, according to IsportsTimes report.
Pixel buyers can relax with their photos and videos backup with Google's cloud service. The device itself comes with either 32GB or 128GB of storage.
However, the phone will be released without microSD card support. The shots and recordings are stored at full quality on the cloud, so you have got nothing to lose by erasing from the local storage.
The final version of Android O is expected to be shipped in August. Furthermore, the Google Pixel 2 series is expected to hit the market in late September or early October.
