‘Wild West Online’ Gameplay Footage Released, Additional Game Details Revealed by 612 Games Boss

Initially, it was thought to be either "Far Cry 5" or Red Dead Redemption 2", now, this open world, Wild West-themed action MMO known as "Wild West Online" (or WWO) now has gameplay footage (watch video below) to back up its claim. According to 612 Games and DJ2 Entertainment, "Wild West Online" will come later this year on PC.

The video of the official gameplay of "Wild West Online" was posted by the game developer on YouTube with 1080p resolution. The video was recorded using a pre-alpha version of the game. According to Massively Overpowered, 612 Games has been developing "Wild West Online" using the Nightshade engine.

"Wild West Online" Gameplay

In a recent interview with GameSpot, 612 Games boss Stephen Bugaj spoke about their plans ahead of releasing "Wild West Online", "People want a multiplayer Western experience, and we are especially happy that players totally recognize the different play types that WWO will provide versus RDR2." RDR2, of course is Red Dead Redemption 2, will be released by second quarter of 2018 according to game developer Rockstar Studios.

Bugaj, who formerly worked at Pixar and Telltale Games, added that they plan to conduct initial alpha test on "Wild West Online" this summer. This is to test and check and test the integrity of their server infrastructure, making sure that basic gameplay elements are working correctly. The 612 Games boss believes that they can make 25% of the map available during alpha test moving to Closed Beta which will likely become available by mid-Fall of 2017.

The head of 612 Games also revealed that "Wild West Online" won't have a single-player mode. Instead, players can go on NPC-provided quests, resource farm, or engage in one-on-one PvP combat. This include role-playing and out-of-game socializing where they get the chance to make partnerships and teams for further adventures, which, as what Bugaj described, "is the most enjoyable part of online multiplayer gaming".

The PvP on "Wild West Online" is combat-based, according to Bugaj, which include gunfights and hand-to-hand. Once you've teamed up with other players or Group PvP, this will be in the form of raids wherein one group does the raiding while the other plays the defenders. Exploring the open world map can be exciting with tons of different activities to do, both as solo or group.
