AMD Radeon RX Vega Latest News Updates, Price, Release Date and Rumors
Just recently, information about the upcoming AMD Radeon RX graphic cards based on Vega architecture surfaced. According to the reports, AMD will come up with graphic cards with codenames such as RX Vega XTX, RX Vega XT, and RX Vega XL. While the codenames cannot be verified, the existence of these graphic cards is in fact, confirmed to really exist.
As posted by German website 3D Center, there will be three models under AMD Radeon RX Vega and these are RX Vega XTX, RX Vega XT, and RX Vega XL. While it is called "XL", it does not have any connection when it comes to size. In fact, RX Vega XL is reportedly the smallest upcoming Vega model comes only with 56 released Shader clusters.
The RX Vega XTX and RX Vega XT both will have the full 64 Shader clusters; however, the difference lies on the hardware where the former could also go as high as 375W in terms of power. Plus, the RX Vega XTX will use the water cooling system while the RX Vega XT will have the air cooling system. According to the report, these AMD graphics cards will be around the price range of GeForce GTX 1070 to 1080, though the XTX model could go as high as GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
VideoCardz.com confirmed the existence of these graphics card though it clarified that Vega XTX could be the codename of Frontier's GPU (Vega 10 GLXTX). In addition, both XTX and XT are said to feature 8GB HBM2 memory though it remains unclear whether a 16GB variant is included.
The AMD Radeon RX Vega series graphic cards will be introduced at the SIGGRAPH Capsaicin event which will be held this coming July 30th. For more information about the three graphic cards, here is the comparison specification chart:
