The Banana Boat Brotherhood: LeBron, Melo, CP3, and D-Wade to Join James Harden, Houston Rockets in 2018?

A few hours from now, Carmelo Anthony may be heading out of New York Knicks and joining the Houston Rockets where he will be joining long-time friend, Chris Paul. And now that there are two members of the Banana Boat Brotherhood in Houston, will LeBron James and Dwyane Wade come aboard in 2018?

The Banana Boat Brotherhood
"I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together," LeBron James said as quoted in an article posted on Bleacher Report entitled "Brotherhood". LeBron added, "At least one, maybe one or two seasons-me, Melo, D-Wade, CP - we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that." Like it was a dream, but be that as it may, LeBron "definitely had thoughts about it."

According to the latest report from New York Daily News, the trade that will bring the 33-year old, ten-time NBA All-Star "is at the two-yard line". And now that Melo is likely to play with CP3 this coming 2017-18 NBA season, will it be possible that LeBron and Dwyane Wade to sign with the Houston Rockets in 2018?

Surely, it's not impossible. But is it feasible? Think about it - LeBron James getting a pay cut. Wade already did that when LBJ joined him in Miami along with Chris Bosh.

Like Wade, CP3 is also entering the final year of his contract. On the other hand, LeBron has player option in 2018, same with Melo. So think of the possibility, all four of them can play together under one team starting in 2018 should they all agree on a pay cut. The question is where.

Super Team in Houston

Since Melo and CP3 will be playing for the Houston Rockets, there is a bigger chance the Banana Boat Brotherhood playing in one NBA team could happen here. Why not? But of course, this will also depend on the harmony the Melo-CP3-James Harden triumvirate can create. Plus, the Banana Boat Brotherhood taking a pay cut. According to HoopsHype, Harden's paycheck in 2018 is $30.4 million!

LeBron has already played with James Harden during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London - D-Wade and Harden, not yet. In fact, they are always being compared with one another. But that could become the beauty of it. D-Wade coming off the bench for Harden, what could possibly go wrong?
