This year, several well-known companies are planning to release their upcoming devices. Apple is releasing it's iPhone 8, and Samsung is prepping its phablet Galaxy Note 8 while Google, is shaping up its Pixel 2 and Pixel XL to join the race.

New Google Pixel phones won't have headphone jack

An image from OnLeaks showed that the Google Pixel 2 would not feature a Headphone Jack. However, these changes from Google are not something new as iPhone 7, and Moto Z already took out the headphone jack last year.

The strange part of Google's new concept is that they used to keep these types features and even criticized other companies who removed headphones jacks.

The report about Google's Pixel 2 lacking a headphone jack has not been confirmed, and some critics from the BGR website said that the report was based only on Google's factory design, according to Blasting News.

Google Pixel 2 specs revealed

Google's upcoming phone, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL, will feature a 4.95 and 5.99-inch display respectively along with 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM. The new Pixel phone will also include Android O and stereo speakers.

The Pixel line ups appear to have a fingerprint sensor positioned at the back of the device. However, the company will still feature its new phone with a single rear camera despite the trend that most of the new smartphone models are moving toward a dual camera system.

Google promises new Phones/VR

Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, announced that the company would release a total of 11 Android Smartphones that will all feature Google's Daydream VR support, according to The Verge.

Hence, these phones will be released at the end of this year.

He then said that Daydream has the capability to make smartphones turn into standalone Visual Reality system and the only thing the users need is one of Google's Daydream View headsets to connect with the device.

One reviewer from the Verge said that he used Daydream with his Google Pixel and there is a huge difference from playing it on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, claiming that the device is lighter and more comfortable. Besides, it is evident that Daydream will give users a much more versatile and portable experienced with VR as the device will not weary the users by its size.
