The Texas Longhorns and the Ole Miss Rebels will both try to stay undefeated on Saturday night when they face each other at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi. The No. 14 Texas Longhorns have flown under the radar thus far this season, but they have looked spectacular in their first two games. They beat Wyoming by a score of 37-17 to open their college football season. In their second game, they dominated New Mexico, 45-0.
Texas sophomore quarterback David Ash looks like he will eventually become a star for the school. Throughout the first two games of the season, Ash has completed 36 of 49 passing attempts for 377 yards and three touchdowns. Fellow sophomore Joe Bergeron leads the team in rushing with 159 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries. Receivers Jaxon Shipley and Mike Davis have combined for 16 catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns.
The Ole Miss Rebels also has an undefeated, 2-0, record heading into their game against the Longhorns. The team defeated Central Arkansas to open the season by a score of 49-27 and they beat UTEP the following week, 28-10. Sophomore QB Bo Wallace has looked near unstoppable thus far. He has completed 35 of 46 passes for 438 yards and five touchdowns. Wallace also leads the team in rushing with 24 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite having home field advantage over the Texas Longhorns, the Ole Miss Rebels will actually take the field as huge 10 point underdogs according to Covers.com.
We actually see this game being much closer than the odds makers.
