The Los Angeles Lakers play their second preseason game of 2012 on Wednesday night as they take on the Portland Trailblazers in Ontario, Canada. The game will be broadcast live at 10 p.m. ET on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. If you cannot watch the game on television, you can also watch a live stream online for free here.

The Lakers were blown out by the Golden State Warriors on Monday in their first preseason game. However, the Lakers led by seven at the end of the first half before their starters left the contest.

Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace and Jordan Hill led the squad with 10 points each. Steve Nash, one of the Lakers' two big offseason acquisitions, started at guard and racked up five points and three assists in around 14 minutes of play.

However, the Lakers' major new face, center Dwight Howard, remained sidelined after undergoing back surgery in the offseason. Howard was cleared on Tuesday for limited contact in scrimmages but will not play in tonight's contest, according to the Associated Press.

But Howard is not the only Lakers' big man dealing with back problems. Hill spent part of Monday night's game on the bench with a pad on his back, according to Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register. Then on Tuesday, it was announced that Hill had a herniated disk and will be re-evaluated next week.

Without Hill, the Lakers have just three true centers on their roster, all of whom are rookies. Robert Sacre started Sunday's game and finished with six points but also four turnovers. Meanwhile, Somogyi played 15 minutes and finished with a -18 plus/minus, while Aguilar had zero points or rebounds in 7:50 minutes.

The rookies will get valuable playing time if Hill and Howard are out for extended periods. There is still a chance one or both will be ready for the season opener, but Los Angeles needs to prepare the young centers just in case.  The Lakers also could play veteran forward Pau Gasol at center if necessary.

Portland, meanwhile, is beginning its preseason tonight against the Lakers. The Trail Blazers finished 28-38 last season, fourth place in the Northwest Division.

The team is led by All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge, who averaged 21.7 points and eight rebounds per game in 2012.

The Trail Blazers have two new starters in 2012, center J.J. Hickson and rookie guard Damian Lilllard. Hickson started 19 games last season for the Kings and Trail Blazers after Portland claimed the fifth-year man off waivers in March.

Lilliard was Portland's top draft pick in April after starring at Weber State. He was second in the nation last season with 24.5 points per game, most in school history.
