It's the very first battle of what is being hailed to be a major NBA rivalry -- Manhattan vs Brooklyn -- as the New York Knicks face off against the Brooklyn Nets. They won't be playing at Madison Square Garden or the Barclay Center though, instead, the game will be at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York. The game will be on at 7:30 EST, and it'll be on TV, but you can watch it for free online here.

These two teams will be feuding all season for New York supremacy, and while New Yorkers, the media, and players from both sides will pretend to think they're fighting for bragging rights as the east's elite, the reality is they'll be battling to be maybe a 4th seed in the eastern conference.

Still, a rivalry is better than no rivalry. Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Amare Stoudemire, Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace, Marcus Camby and Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace forms a high number of "name" players -- although of this group, only Melo and DWill are considered superstars.

Expect the crowd to be evenly split tonight between both teams, as although the Knicks should still be the marquee team, Brooklyn is "fresh" and "new", and it has Jay-Z on its side.

Williams has insisted that he was "forgotten" last year and he'll be back to reclaim his spot as one of NBA's superstar point guards.

Tonight's game could be the first in a season long of matchups. They'll play each other four times at least, and then perhaps, the playoffs?
