Darren Sproles Fantasy Injury Update: Will Saints Have Their RB Back?
If you are a fan of the New Orleans Saints or just somebody who happens to own their stud running back Darren Sproles in any of your fantasy football leagues, chances are you have been waiting for an injury update that tells you he will return to action. Well, keep reading to find out Sproles' status for Sunday.
Interim head coach Joe Vitt told reporters today that Darren Sproles is still experiencing some swelling in his fractured hand and that doctors will have the final say on if the running back will be allowed to play or not. Sproles also echoed his coached thoughts.
"Whatever the doctors tell me," Sproles said. "They have the final decision."
However, all signs point to the New Orleans Saints having Darren Sproles in their starting lineup on Sunday afternoon when the team faces the Oakland Raiders. As of right now - unless something major changed - we would feel comfortable submitting Sproles into your starting lineup especially if you own him in a points per reception league.
Even if Darren Sproles does play on Sunday, we are sure he will split a lot of playing time with the team's other running backs. However, Sproles has earned the respect of his teammates and Drew Brees loves throwing him the football. If he plays, be sure you start him against the Oakland Raiders.
Any running back that is playing against the Oakland Raiders is worth starting. Even if Darren Sproles is only at 75%, he is better than most running backs currently in the National Football League. We would expect him to put up very respectable fantasy football numbers if he plays on Sunday.
