By Staff Reporter, Posted: 12/01/12 12:34PM EST

Breaking news out of Kansas City right now as Jovan Belcher, a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, has shot and killed his girlfriend early Saturday before then committing suicide by shooting himself at the team facility -- in front of coaches and teammates.

The Kansas City Star, citing police, identified the player as 25-year-old linebacker Jovan Belcher. FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez reports that a Chiefs source has also confirmed Belcher as the player.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports made a huge error in judgement when they reported the news, followed by a "Fantasy Football Analysis" on how the incident would affect the Fantasy NFL world.

Reports are stating that Belcher shot himself in front of "several coaches", this tragic incident is still developing, we'll keep updating as news break.

There are unconfirmed reports that Belcher, who was 25, and originally from Long Island, New York recently had a baby less than three months ago with his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs have released a statement on its website, stating: "We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."
