According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea FC are looking into luring Borussia Dortmund's manager Jurgen Klopp, in case they fail in trying to sign Pep Guardiola.

Of course, the former Barcelona boss remains owner Roman Abramovich's number one priority, but that's according to press statements. Behind the scenes, UK reports are saying Abramovich is eyeing Klopp.

Guardiola has not been convinced by Chelsea's track record of, essentially, having a revolving door of managers. So he's been holding out.

The more he holds out, the more Klopp will be targeted. We know Abramovich is willing to spend, so could Klopp turn down a huge offer?

This whole movement is partly led by Chelsea's board technical director Michael Emenalo, who've been looking at luring Klopp, after they were impressed by the way he turned Dortmund into a major force in Europe by concentrating on youngsters.

A former player, Klopp  played his entire senior career for Mainz 05 from 1989, on through 2001. He was originallky an attacking striker, but later made a late career switch to defender, where he exceled. From 2005, Klopp appeared as a regular talking head on the ZDF, a Germain television network, giving his views on the German National Football team. It's unknown if he will continue the role after he takes the Chelsea job.
