Arsenal is keeping its eyes on AC Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy right now, looking to pounce during January's transfer window.

El Shaarawy is having his best season as a pro at Milan, he debuted this season as a young and hungry attacking midfielder. With 13 goals, he leads his team's in points, and the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic only makes that feat even more impressive. 

But El Shaarawy has been rumored to be open to leaving for Arsenal, with various reports coming out of the UK, including the Daily Mail saying he's all but gone. Arsene Wenger, according to multiple reports, is a huge admirer of the Egyptian football star.

In fact, when asked about the guy, Wenger told Eurosport, "El Shaarawy is a very mobile, very technical young player. His philosophy fits perfectly with mine."

So while Walcott makes a lot of similar comments, bet on the wheeling and dealing manager to put the money on the table come the new year.  El Shaarawy is a versatile player who is comfortable in any of the advanced attacking midfield roles, that sounds exactly like what Arsenal needs.

Born in Savona to an Egyptian father and an Italian mother, El Shaarawy joined regional Serie A club Genoa at the age of thirteen. At 16, he turned pro and instantly became a star.
