With the 2012 NFL regular season in the record books, it is time to debut our power rankings for the first week of playoffs in 2013. Without wasting any time at all, here are our top 5 teams in the National Football League right now.

1: Denver Broncos

It seems like the Denver Broncos are currently everyone's favorite to represent the AFC and win the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning looks better than he ever has and the Broncos defense has been able to create turnovers whenever they are needed most. It is hard to find a weakness on the Denver football team, but they do lack a power running game without Willis McGahee.

2: Atlanta Falcons

Not a lot of people believe in the Atlanta Falcons because they have consistently failed to live up to expectations when it comes time to perform in the playoffs. Something tells us that this season could be very different because of the maturity of their offense. Matt Ryan is entering the prime of his career while his receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones are on top of their game. Their defense isn't too bad either.

3: New England Patriots

The New England Patriots can never be counted out once it comes time for the playoffs. They have a bye week during the first week which means that will give their defense time to get healthy, and most importantly the week off will help Rob Gronkowski return to full strength. They are a team that nobody wants to face in the playoffs.

4: San Francisco 49ers

As long as Colin Kaepernick doesn't screw things up, the 49ers could end up going all of the way. Their defense is the best in the National Football League and they have a great running game led by Frank Gore. They just need Kaepernick not to mess things up.

5: Seattle Seahawks

Seattle has the best pass rush in the entire NFL and the best rushing attach in the league as well. Between Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, their offense is hard for anyone to slow down. Their defense has been playing lights out as well.
