Bill Cowher Rumors: Will Eagles, Cardinals or Bears Lure Him Out Of Retirement?

It has been six years since Super Bowl winning coach Bill Cowher won a ring with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since retiring, Cowher has stuck true to his word and has not flirted with a return to the sport. Up to this point, Cowher has seemed happy with his job as an NFL analyst for CBS. However, that may change this offseason now that the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals and the Chicago Bears are trying to lure him out of retirement.
In order for any NFL team to convince Bill Cowher out of retirement they will need to give him a ton of control in the front office and in player personnel. In addition, he will have to feel comfortable with the owner because he will only take a job that he feels puts him in a position to win. Cowher will need to be guaranteed the long-term security to build a foundation for a winning football franchise. After all, Rome wasn't built overnight.

At only 55 years old, Bill Cowher is still young enough to dedicate at least 10 years to an NFL team. He is a proven winner and he is highly respected by everyone around the National Football League. It makes sense as to why a team would be willing to give up so much just to have the opportunity to hire him as their head coach. During his coaching career in the NFL, Cowher recorded 149 wins, 90 losses and one tie. That's a winning percentage of .623.
If we had to guess, we would say that Cowher would mostly be interested in coaching either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Chicago Bears. Both of those teams have a fan base and an environment quite similar to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since Cowher was able to become a beloved figure in Pittsburgh, he would surely love to have that same experience with another passionate football fan base.
