A lot of NFL fans and analysts were completely stunned when the Chicago Bears decided to fire head coach Lovie Smith. Luckily for Lovie, it doesn't seem like he will be unemployed for too long. According to various reports, the Buffalo Bills and the St. Louis Rams are extremely interested in Mr. Smith's coaching services.
While the Buffalo Bills are trying to hire Lovie Smith to become their head coach, the St. Louis Rams are desperately trying to convince Lovie Smith to become their defensive coordinator. In case you don't remember, Lovie Smith made a name for himself as the Rams defensive coordinator from 2001-03.

Obviously if Lovie Smith wants to jump right back into becoming a head coach, the Buffalo Bills would make perfect sense. The Bills already have a great offense which has been Smith's weak spot as a head coach. That means he would be able to solely focus on the defensive side of the ball which is his bread and butter.
However, it is also quite possible that Lovie Smith will want to take a season or two off from being a head coach and go back to serving as a coordinator. If that's the case, a return to the St. Louis Rams would also make sense.
If we had to guess, we would lean toward Lovie Smith becoming the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills. He makes perfect sense for the team and could turn them into an instant contender in the AFC. If the Bills are smart, they would start doing everything in their power to convince Lovie Smith to become the next head coach of their football team.
As for the St. Louis Rams, we can't blame them for trying. But we don't believe they'll be lucky enough to land Lovie Smith as an assistant coach in 2013.
