Tip off for the game is scheduled to take place at 2:15 p.m. ET and can be seen by most people on the Big Ten Network depending on your local television coverage. Their wins have been gathered over the Albany Great Danes, the Rhode Island Rams, the Washington Huskies, the UMKC Kangaroos, the Northern Kentucky Norse, the Long Beach State 49ers, the Savannah State Tigers, the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs, the Winthrop Eagles, the Chicago State Cougars and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Their two losses were suffered at the hands of the Duke Blue Devils and the Kansas Jayhawks.

The No. 11 overall Illinois Fighting Illini currently have an overall college basketball record of 13 wins and just two losses. Their wins have been gathered over the Colgate Raiders, the St. Francis Terriers, the Hawaii Warriors, the USC Trojans, Chaminade, the Butler Bulldogs, the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Western Carolina Catamounts, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the Norfolk State Spartans, the Eastern Kentucky Colonels and the Auburn Tigers. Their two losses were suffered at the hands of the Missouri Tigers and the Purdue Boilermakers.
