Manny Pacquiao: 5 Fighters He May Face Before Juan Manuel Marquez Again
It is being reported by numerous sports outlets that Manny Pacquiao is looking to take a tune-up fight before facing Juan Manuel Marquez for a fifth time. Supposedly, Pacquiao wants to fight in May before Marquez again in the fall or winter. With that in mind, we are all curious as to who Pacquiao will fight in May. Obviously he doesn't want to face too much of a threat, but he will need to fight someone that can draw some intrigue as well. Here are five fighters who could earn themselves that big payday.
Follow Us :
1. Marcos Maidana
Marcos Maidana makes sense for a few reasons. He is a crowd favorite with a ton of knockout power. He would draw plenty of intrigue due to that fact that some people are now questioning Manny Pacquiao's chin. However, Maidana is not much of a threat against Pacquiao because he very slow which would work right into Pacquiao's favor.
2: Devon Alexander
Devon Alexander does not have much power, but he is young and an up-and-comer. He also has a big hometown following in St. Louis Missouri. He is coming off of three big wins over Lucas Matthysse, Marcos Maidana and Randall Bailey.
3: Josesito Lopez
Josesito Lopez became a household name amongst boxing fans with his shocking upset victory over Victor Ortiz. He followed that victory up by getting dominated by Canelo Alvarez, but he is still a fighter that most fans respect and want to see fight again. Lopez is the type of guy who will never be in a boring fight.
4: Zab Judah
If Zab Judah gets by Danny Garcia in their February fight, it would make a lot of sense to put him in there against Manny Pacquiao. Not only would Zab Judah once again be recognized as a top 5 welterweight in the world, but he is also a very exciting fighter with knockout power. At the same time, Judah has some glaring flaws that Pacquiao could easily expose.
5: Timothy Bradley
A rematch with Timothy Bradley would likely draw the most intrigue amongst most boxing fans. Bradley of course won a controversial decision over Pacquiao when they fought in June of 2012. Even though most people feel like Manny Pacquiao completely dominated the bout, a lot of people would like to see him avenge the loss and take care of Bradley once and for all.
