Manchester City Transfer News: Carlos Tevez And 12 More Expected To Make Summer Exit, Roberto Mancini Expects Overhaul
Manchester City sold off their controversial striker Mario Balotelli to Italian Serie A club AC Milan during the January transfer window, but they would definitely be on a buying spree during the summer.
This news gains significance as several players are keen on exiting the club during the summer and primary among them is Carlos Tevez.
In other words, there would be a complete overhaul at the Etihad Stadium during the summer.
The Argentina international who turns 29, come Feb.5 has been linked to a number of clubs across the Europe.
Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure, Richard Wright and Tevez are all out of contract at the end of the season in summer.
Apart from them, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair, Aleksandar Kolarov, Gareth Barry, James Milner, and Maicon may be sold off too.
Besides, City boss Roberto Mancini had revealed that he has already earmarked the players that he intends to buy in summer.
"Clubs don't want to sell now, but maybe they will in the summer. We need to work now, so that it is not like last year," Mancini was quoted as saying by The Mirror.
"I have meetings with Txiki [Begiristain] every week and we talk about the summer. It will be easier to get players in the summer if we work hard, well and quickly now.
"You can't start looking at players in May because all the good ones are gone and it becomes impossible."
Not to speak of the fact that Mancini wanted to buy Arsenal's star striker Robin van Persie during the summer last year, but Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson stole a march over him.
Later, Mancini was left ruing publicly about the lost bid.
"Last year we didn't work well. It's important we start now. Now's the time we can close in on some good players for the summer. It's difficult in January to find really good players for us," Mancini added.
The transfer news gathers credence as the City host Liverpool during their Premier League encounter tonight.
