Lindsey Vonn, currently competing in the Alpine Skiing World Championships, will be surrounded by bodyguards during the competition.
Vonn, whose personal life has been front and center over the last few months, commented on the increased security.
"There's going to be an incredible amount of people here in Schladming (Austria), and it's a very small space," Vonn said at a press conference on Sunday.

Her team sponsor, Red Bull, hired security "to make sure I can get in and out and not have any difficulty, but I don't expect there to be any problems. But it's better to be safe than sorry," said Vonn.
The skier and Tiger Woods have been romantically linked as a couple with both sides staying extremely quiet on the relationship. Reports have had Woods taking Vonn on a romantic getaway to Antigua and even meeting up with while she was competing in Austria.
The two met within the skiing community according to sources. (Woods is an avid skier). Woods is still single even though The Daily Mail reported a few weeks back that Tiger was trying to win his ex-wife Elin Nordegren back with a $200 million pre-nup. Vonn's divorce was finalized last month to skier Thomas Vonn, so time does help the "relationship."
When asked if Tiger would be coming to see her compete during the 13 day championships, Vonn responded.
"On, my god! I don't know. You should ask him."
According to Tiger's website, Tiger is not scheduled to play in a PGA event until The Masters in April so his calendar appears to be clear. I'm just saying, Tiger may be a spectator in Austria.
Vonn was recovering from an intestinal illness for the past month. She has returned to win her first two races back on tour. When asked about her reported romance with Woods, Vonn seemed to not know much about the rumor.
"I actually don't know what's going on in the U.S. as far as media pertaining to these world championships," Vonn said. "I haven't really been going online very much. I've just been focusing on preparing for world championships."
