The Rockets are coming off a victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Jeremy Lin had a double-double in that contest with 14 points and 10 assists, while forward Chandler Parsons added 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting.
The contest was a nice homecoming for Jeremy Lin, who, as Reuters notes, is originally from Palo Alto. Tuesday marked his first appearance in the area since he burst onto the scene last February as a member of the New York Knicks.
However, the Rockets suffered a scary moment in the Warriors contest when All-Star guard James Harden injured his right ankle on a bad fall. As the Associated Press notes, Harden finished the game and actually led the Rockets with 27 points. However, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported early Wednesday morning that the guard will miss Wednesday's contest with the Clippers.
Harden will likely be a big loss for the Rockets. As NBA.com notes, the guard is averaging over 26 points per contest. He has been particularly strong offensively over the past four games, averaging 32 points per game and making 44 percent of his three-point attempts.
Los Angeles may be down a few contributors as well. Both guard Chauncey Billups and forward Caron Butler could miss Wednesday's game with back injuries. Butler has missed just three games for the 37-17 Clippers, though Billups has appeared in just five contests all season.
One of those contests was an eight-point victory over the Rockets on January 15. The Clippers shot 53.8 percent from the floor in that game, including 11-of-19 from three-point range.
Harden led the Rockets in that matchup with 23 points, while forward Carlos Delfino added 16 points off the bench.
