Tim Tebow To Buffalo Bills? Don’t Get Your Hopes Up
The Buffalo Bills stunned a ton of people on Tuesday afternoon when they announced the release of two-year starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Now there are questions as to who the team will end up starting in 2013, but before the rumors even start, we wanted to crush the hopes of Tim Tebow fans.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was due to make a $3 million bonus this week as part of the huge six-year, $59 million extension he received in 2011. However, he has a poor season in 2012 and the team decided to cut their losses.
"We kept every possible option open right down to the wire when we had to make a decision on whether to keep Ryan," Bills general manager Buddy Nix said. "In the end, we had to do what we feel is best for our football team, and it was a very difficult decision.
"Ryan did some great things as our starting quarterback. He is a class act, a terrific guy with a great family and has been involved in many charitable endeavors in our community. But difficult decisions often have to be made, and so we are moving forward."
Of course as soon as any starting quarterback position in the NFL opens up, Tim Tebow's name gets thrown into the rumor mill. Unfortunately, we are here to tell you that there is absolutely no way that the Buffalo Bills will go after Tim Tebow. The Bills like to throw the football around and they have some young studs at the wide receiver position. It would make absolutely no sense for them to sign Tebow.
Any team that decides to invest on Tim Tebow, has to do so with the plan to run a physical, ball control offense with minimal passing. That is now what the Buffalo Bills are built for and we would be completely shocked if they had absolutely any interest in the New York Jets' personal punt protector, Tim Tebow.
