Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: Seattle Seahawks Emerge With Interest
Just when you think there wasn't a single NFL team interested in Tim Tebow's services, the Seattle Seahawks suddenly emerge with interest in trading for the New York Jets QB if you believe the rumors.
As soon as the Seattle Seahawks traded backup quarterback Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders, the Seattle Seahawks had a need at quarterback position. Of course, Tim Tebow would not get an opportunity to compete for the starting job in Seattle, but he would fit their offense.
Make no mistake about it, Russell Wilson is the clear starter for the Seattle Seahawks. He had an unbelievable rookie season and he is believed to be a superstar for many years to come. However, he does like to run the football which means the Seahawks must get him a great backup who is ready to step into the game at any time.
When you consider that Tim Tebow and Russell Wilson's playing styles are not extremely different, it would make sense as to why the New York Jets would have interest in trading for him. Just like Russell Wilson, Tim Tebow loves to run the football and is a master when it comes to creating a play when everything breaks down and doesn't go as planned. Just like Russell Wilson, Tim Tebow is also a wonderful locker room leader who has the respect of all of his teammates.
It is usually said that nobody works harder than Russell Wilson. According to reports, people say he is the first person in and the last person out when it comes to day-to-day preparations. The exact same thing can be said for Tim Tebow.
With all of that said, the biggest reason a Tim Tebow to the Seattle Seahawks trade makes sense is because Tebow will be cheap. The Seahawks could likely acquire his services from the Jets for a seventh round draft pick. That's a steal for a quarterback who led the Denver Broncos to a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
