Maria Sharapova: Porshe Makes Tennis Star First Global Endorser

Tennis superstar and international sex symbol Maria Sharapova is a very happy woman today. Over the weekend she reached a huge deal with German carmaker Porsche to become their first global endorser.
The deal means that Sharapova will be the face of Porsche for the next three years.
"This says a lot about her longevity and her brand power," said her agent, Max Eisenbud. "To have a company like Porsche that is so high-end and so meticulous to allow her to stand next to their car says a lot."

Maria Sharapova is certainly no stranger to endorsements. In addition to Porsche, she also have deals with Nike, Cole Haan, Evian, Tag Heuer and Samsung.
It is estimated that she currently makes around $20 million a year which is more money than any other female athlete in the world. She is special in the sense that she seems to appeal to both the male and female audiences.
Maria Sharapova is a great tennis player, but she has never reached a level of dominance that the Williams sisters have. She is currently ranked as the No. 2 tennis player in the world, yet there are not many people that believe she could ever beat Serena Williams in a head to head matchup.
Porsche is a brand that has way more male buyers than female. That fact alone makes us wonder why they have decided to sign Maria Sharapova. Men may enjoy watching her in commercials and watching her on the tennis court, but we have a hard time believing that there are a lot of guys out there who will listen to her advice when it comes to purchasing vehicles.
Regardless, Maria Sharapova is certainly a very rich woman and as history as shown us, the rich always get richer. Congratulations to Sharapova and her agent for securing another huge endorsement.
