Super Bowl Odds 2014 Vegas: Patriots, 49ers, Broncos Favorites To Win
The New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers are the betting favorites -- in that order -- to win the 2014 Super Bowl in New York, according to the LVH sports book.
The Patriots are 5:1 favorites while the 49ers and Broncos are 6:1, the Seahawks are 7:1 and the Packers are 12:1. Not much appears to have changed the minds of the LVH's bookmakers following the conclusion of the 2013 NFL draft as all five of those teams above were the favorites heading into NFL free agency, respectively. One can see why, though, given that quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are at the helm of two the league's most potent offenses.
However, there were some slight changes to the odds of a handful of teams following what was an interesting 2013 NFL Draft that included a first round littered with offensive and defensive linemen.
Three teams were given worse odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy after next season, namely the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals. The Saints moved from 16:1 to 18:1 (tied for sixth on the list with the New York Giants), the Jets moved from 50:1 to 100:1 (tied for the third-to-last team on the list) and the Cardinals moved from 100:1 to 150:1 (the second-to-last team on the list).
Meanwhile, the only team that received better odds to win the 2014 Super Bowl was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They moved from 60:1 to 40:1 post-draft, most likely thanks to the acquisition of ex-Jet cornerback Darrelle Revis.
The two teams on the list with the worst odds to win next year's Super Bowl are the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars at 200:1 each.
