Dwight Howard Rumors: What If He Joined The Miami Heat?

By Brian Ethridge, Posted: 05/18/13 10:34AM EDT

Dwight Howard is one of the biggest and most wanted free agents in the NBA. Nobody really knows where he will end up playing basketball next season. He could end up back with the Los Angeles Lakers, or maybe he will decide to play for the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets or the Brooklyn Nets. But what if he shocked the world and joined the Miami Heat?

Can you imagine just how unstoppable an NBA team would be with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard on the roster? If they could all stay healthy, they would potentially be the most dominated team that the NBA has ever seen.

Of course there is a very slim to no chance that Dwight Howard will join the Miami Heat. It is believed that he wants to go to a team where he can be the biggest superstar on the team. With the Heat, he would always be overshadowed by LeBron and Wade. It's also highly unlikely that the Heat could pay all four stars.

Then again, maybe Dwight Howard joining the Miami Heat isn't as crazy as one may think. What if the Miami Heat let Dwyane Wade walk away from the basketball team? There have been rumors that the team may be thinking about releasing Wade because of his inability to stay healthy. That would be a very risky move for the Heat, especially considering just how close Wade and LeBron are. But if it happened, it would certainly make room for Howard to join the squad.

It would be very interesting to see if the combination of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard would be as dominant as LeBron, Bosh and Dwyane Wade. With Howard the Heat would be more physical, but Wade gives them more versatility.

Do you think the Miami Heat would be better with Dwight Howard than they are with Dwyane Wade? Please leave your thoughts in a comment below.
