These days there are not a lot of Jeremy Lin or Houston Rockets rumors to report, but that does not keep the media from finding something to report about Lin. The 24-year-old Christian has never been shy to speak about his love for his Jesus, and that has not changed one bit.

On Lin's Facebook page he was answering questions from fans. When one fan asked him what Jesus meant to him, the NBA star replied with this:

"Everything...without Him I wouldn't have a purpose in life," Lin answered on Facebook.

There are a lot of reasons why Lin is such a popular athlete and role model around the world, but his religion and faith in God is one of those reasons. Last season when the Houston Rockets acquired the superstar, he wanted to make sure that everyone knew he played for God, not fame.

"I just play for God. That's what I need to focus on every day. I'm going to have good games; I'm going to have bad games," Lin told the Houston Chronicle last year. "If I play for God, if I play hard and if I try to give Him the glory, I'm OK. I need to learn to be OK with whatever happens and trust it's part of God's perfect plan."

Lin is one of the few athletes around the world that has been able to successfully juggle fame off the court and his play on the court without any outside distractions. He seems like a very good person and he deserves to be a nationwide role model. Nobody ever wants to see him lose his faith or his love for God.

With all that said, Houston Rockets fans hope Lin continues to improve and has a much better second season with the team than he had in his first season as a member of the Rockets. It's not necessarily that he played bad last season, but many fans expected more.
