Back in October I gave you five reasons to watch WWE NXT (find a link to the article at the bottom of the page). Now, here are my five best matches of the year. So I hope you are watching NXT, and if not, well, here are five more reasons to watch NXT.

5. Paige vs Natalya for the NXT Women's Championship (aired 4th December 2013)

Sometimes I hate reading "it was really good...for a women's match" but this was just a good match, with two great competitors. So many great counters and reversals at the start, then the match slowly builds and picks up steam towards the end. Paige, the NXT Women's Champion took it to Natayla and they both took tremendous amounts of punishment and there is a great moment at then end where they hug. Natalya looked like a veteran and Paige ended up earning the veteran's respect by showing resilience and heart. Go out of your way to watch this, a great match between two of the best womem performers around. Proof that there is still a place for women's wrestling.

Best Moment? The hug it out moment at the end of the match

4. Seth Rollins vs Corey Graves (Lumberjack Match) (aired 18th April 2013)

Cant seem to find this one on YouTube, but here it is on DailyMotion http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1235d6_04-18-13-seth-rollins-vs-corey-graves_sport?search_algo=2

The Shield return to thier former stomping ground NXT and Corey Graves wants the Lumberjacks to keep the Shield out of the ring while he gets his revenge on Seth Rollins. The Shield had cost Corey Graves a number of matches over the weeks leading up to this match and Graves wanted to get his revenge on the most destructive trio in WWE history. This match is notable for the fast paced nature, Graves developing into a face and the destructive Shield making thier presence known, even down in NXT where they attack and obliterate everyone.

Best Moment? The Sheild come from nowhere and attack.

3. Bray Wyatt vs Chris Jericho (aired 2nd May 2013)

Cant seem to find this one on Youtube, but you can find it here on DailyMotion http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x12zpjw_05-02-13-bray-wyatt-vs-chris-jericho_sport?search_algo=2

Chris Jericho comes to to Florida but ends up in an encounter with the backwoods preacher Bray Wyatt. Wyatt's unorthodox style meshes with Jericho's blend of high impact high flying. The Wyatt Family do everything they can to help Bray win the match but neither of them can outsmart Jericho with his years of experience. Jericho however, would not leave unscathed as he would learn learn how dangerous Bray Wyatt and his family can be. Chris Jericho was one of the first to witness the magic of the Wyatt Family and it was our first chance seeing Bray Wyatt mix it up with main event level talent.

Best Moment? Jericho slingshots Wyatt into Harper then rolls back into the Walls of Jericho

2. William Regal vs Kassius Ohno (aired 10th April 2013)

Well, I liked Kassius Ohno. Regardless of that though you cant deny that this all out war between Ohno and wily veteran William Regal is an all out NXT classic. This feud in NXT between teacher and student results in a great match, which wouldnt be out of place on a pay per view. Ohno and Regal meld in a hard hitting, brutal brawl where everything looks like it hurts. Every kick to the head, every punch and every finger breaking just makes you wince. Regal manages to gather sympathy from the crowd as they get sucked into the match as time goes on and the more punishment Ohno dishes out to him. Regal still manages to have plenty of fire and with a potential mouth watering match between him and Antonio Cesaro coming up, he might not be hanging up his boots just yet.

Best Moment? Regal fights back "he doesnt know where he is and doesnt care"

1. Antonio Cesaro vs Sami Zayn (Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match) (aired 21 August 2013)

Speed vs Strength. Embroiled in a bitter feud Zayn and Cesaro look to settle the rivalry in a 2 out of the 3 falls match full of high flying, brawling and technical wrestling; pretty much everything you want in a wrestling match. These two have some of the best chemistry ever seen down in NXT, not a thing goes wrong and everything looks crisp but real. Cesaro eventually triumphs, but not before Zayn gets to show incredible heart and determination endearing himself to the Full Sail University crowd in Florida while Antonio Cesaro gets to show his dominance and what an incredible athlete he truly is.

Best Moment? There are so many, you think it is the deadlift superplex until you see how Zayn ends up getting hit by Cesaro's signature move.

Honourables Mentions - Antonio Cesaro vs Leo Kruger, Bo Dallas vs Adrian Neville, Adrian Neville vs Sami Zayn. Here is a link to my article on the five reasons you should be watching NXT (/articles/9155/20131016/wwe-wrestling-nxt-wwenxt.htm
