Florida State Seminoles star quarterback will not be charged with sexual assault even though his accuser maintains that she was raped by the football player. Nevertheless, he will remain innocent in the eyes of most.

But why would his accuser lie? And furthermore, who is she?

Those two questions relate to each other in more ways that you may believe. Most people would believe that somebody would wrongfully accuse a highly touted football player of rape for either mainstream attention or to hurt his credibility. But that does not seem to be the case here.

We still have no idea who his accuser is. She hasn't spoken publicly and according to all reports, she had no previous relationship with Winston. Therefore, she had no reason to want to hurt his credibility.

Even though no Winston has avoided charges, his accuser still says she was raped by the QB.

"To be clear, the victim did not consent. This was rape," according to a statement released by the accuser's family.

Other people maintain the belief that the accuser was drunk, really has no idea what happened and wouldn't have remembered if she agreed to have sexual intercourse or not.

Whatever happened that night, only Mr. Winston and the accuser truly know, but why would she lie?

Regardless if it was rape or not, we already know Winston isn't the smartest or greatest person in the world. Why would he have sexual intercourse in front of a ton of people with a complete stranger who had obviously been drinking? Obviously, he is far from innocent.

After he found out he wouldn't be charged with sexual assault, Winston released the following statement through his lawyer.

"It's been difficult to stay silent through this process, but I never lost faith in the truth and in who I am," Winston's statement said.

Even though Jameis Winston has to be considered innocent, many people can't help but wonder what really happened between him and the accuser. Maybe a rape didn't occur, or maybe it did. One thing is for sure: the spotlight will remain on Jameis Winston for as long as he remains a public figure. He better thing twice, even three times, before he decides to put himself in questionable positions.

We will continue to monitor this news story for any more information. If we ever find out exactly who the accuser is or if we are given any reason as to why she would have lied about being raped by Mr. Winston, we will definitely update you on ISportsTimes.
